If a player hits an empty spot the bet has been successfully completed the previous bet. This means that the player is left with one card to turn over to complete their hand. If any player is holding an amount of Fan Tan that is equal to the amount of cards turned over the player has to be called. The Fan Tan is regarded as a "level" game of cards, where the winning sequence is always identical.

Most Fan Tan games are played with pairs, but there is a variant that is played using the classic sevens. This is referred to as the "card game of the kings". Unlike the sevens, Fan Tan is played with straight flush. The aim of this variant is to form the perfect pair by creating two pairs of one's with three players. When the two "king" pairs are announced to be the best pair, the Fan Tan player that had the most winning hand will win the pot. In most cases, the Fan Tan is played with the regular deck. Some decks are made specifically for this purpose and may be a bit more expensive than normal decks.

Like many standard 52-card decks, the standard Fan Tan includes jokers. Depending on the denomination, there are two types. Players who use regular decks are not able to use royal or VIP jokers. If you're looking for a particular type of joker, you may consider buying one. Most of the time, Royal jokers can be bought as separate cards. They contain a variety of jokers however they are not custom-designed. The jokers are sizes that are standard and are black with red writing. But, certain companies are able to cut jokers to fit your requirements.

The "leveler" joker can be employed to stop the sequence , and it's worth three points when the winning hands are made from it. People who have already won a certain number of game playing tickets previously can't utilize the "special card" joker. The VIP card is awarded to the winner, instead of the standard leveler or special card. They all are worth three points. Packs can include as many as nine.

There are numerous variants of Fan Tan, depending on whether you play the Texas Hold'em or standard versions. If you're playing the standard version, your hand is dealt and you can then take one card out of the discard pile (called the flip). If you think the card contains a premium legal card, you can make a call (raise). Then, you'll make three cash payments (push) into the pot in order to take it out of the turn of the player in accordance with the rules set out on the Texas Hold 'em website. The "Texas Holdem" version includes an optional third rule. Following the third payout you are able to legally play two more cards from the flop, known as the "rain" or "flop".

If you're playing the standard version of the game and you're unable to get any of the cards in the pile of discards, you may not be able to legally "draw" any cards from the draw. All players are legally required to fold regardless of their positions at the table. The "Texas Holdem" version requires players to declare their inability to play cards. The other players must then contribute to their "rain" or "flop", regardless if they are at the same table position. The player who pays the first (lowest total) wins.
